EHS Coordinator
Forest, VA Forest, VA Full-time Full-time $45,000 - $60,000 a year $45,000 - $60,000 a year Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator will support company safety initiatives.
The EHS Coordinator will work with the Manufacturing, Maintenance, Technology and Operations departments to ensure safety goals are achieved.
The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing, evaluating and analyzing work environments as well as designing programs and procedures to prevent occupational injuries.
Applicants must have experience in the following areas:
safety compliance issues, lockout tag out, confined space, machine guarding and job hazard analysis.
Core Duties/
Responsibilities:
Advise managers of safety hazards while formulating means to mitigate or eliminate.
Assist in the development and enforce the Safety Program and Site-Specific Safety and Health Plans.
Provides technical safety advice, coaching, and guidance to all employees regarding company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct inspections of facility to ensure compliance with safety standards and policies Research, develop, and implement best practices in safe operating procedures and policies Focus on continuous improvement in safety performance Develop, coordinate and conduct safety training Assist in investigating all accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective action Collect, test and analyze samples of any hazardous substances in plant processes Ensure proper use of PPE in plant including training of requirements Inspect production equipment, lab equipment and exhaust equipment for safety issues Conduct safety training sessions Performs other duties as assigned Support monitoring of all environmental permits applicable to our facility and ensure compliance as well as on time reporting.
Minimum Qualifications or Requirements:
2 years minimum work experience in EHS management or an Associate's degree in a related field Excellent interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and regulations Applicant must be well organized Job Type:
