Inkjet Operator

Position Summary: The inkjet operator is a motivated individual that will set-up and run an Ink-Jet printer. This is a table top unit that ink-jets bar codes and/or addresses on envelopes, from a size of 4 ¬ ‚ x 6 ¬ ‚ to 6‚ x 9‚ at an average speed of 5,000 / hour. Previous experience is a plus, but we will provide all necessary training. The successful candidate will also be expected to work in other areas of the plant as needed, able to work in a fast paced environment, while standing on their feet throughout the shift.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Runs jobs needing to be produced on all equipment while meeting safety and production standards.
  • Ensure the all incoming work orders provided by project management are being processed in timely fashion with no mistakes.
  • Verify that all work produced meets customer requirement and is in compliance with the USPS rules and regulations with regard to ink-jet and lasering of barcodes and address placement.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by Shift Lead and Manager
  • Communicates effectively to employees to enhance employee morale and teamwork
  • Displays a strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ensure proper coverage on the production floor at all times
  • Perform regular quality checks on all components and finished packages to ensure quality standards are met
  • Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift transition to ensure optimal productivity for following shift
  • Notifies Team Lead of component quality issues
  • Works with Team Lead to resolve quality concerns
  • Ensures safety practices are followed
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Shift Lead Manager
Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in clear business English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and Excel experience
  • Able to pay close attention to detail and customer requirements
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Ability to monitor production equipment for speed and quality
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Able to work flexible schedules and weekends when needed
  • Positive ‚ can do‚ attitude and approach to the workplace
  • Keeps workplace clean and orderly to improve quality and appearance
  • Dependable, professional and courteous work habits and daily approach
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including moving up to 10 pounds regularly and lifting up to 45 pounds intermittently
  • Previous machine operating experience
  • Basic knowledge of postal guidelines for sorted mail

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
